Kalvin sighed some as he shut his locker, having dropped off his books from his pervious lesson before lunch hour. He moved through the hallway then as he glanced around nodding at some of the acquaintances he had made in other classes. It was always awkward when someone transferred in, especially half way through post secondary school, but when they transfer in and are a grade above the rest of the kids his age it got even more harder to make friends. He sighed some as he shook his head slightly whilst moving through the halls then, heading for the large cafeteria. It had been his parent's choice to move here, to avoid having to keep their lives as secret as they have had to before in other communities. They thought that a community like this would make it easier for him to grow and flourish, but as of right now all he could think about is how much he missed his human friends from home. Granted, they had, had no idea of his....peculiarities, but they had been his friends through most of his life. He had teachers back home he knew well as well, neighbours and other family. Regardless he was here now and he was going to have to make the best of it. No use getting angry over something that's already done. He ran his fingers through his mussed hair then as he moved through the doors into the buzzing cafeteria, looking around for an empty table if that were even possible.

Ashleigh was looking around for Felix wondering where he had gotten off too when she turned and ran right into someone knocking her tray all over the both of them. She groaned thinking this was payback for laughing at what had happened to the vampire boy a day before. She sighed looking up at who she ran into and blinked already lost in the blue eyes before her. Damn if she had seen him before she would have remembered. He was more than hot! She was so taking him that the sorry that had been about to come out froze on her lips. Her mouth felt dry as well as she couldn't tear her eyes away from the boy before her.

Kalvin grunted when a tiny body hit him so suddenly, his eyebrows furrowing a bit as he held back groan feeling something smashing into his chest as well that wasn't human and smelt distinctly like food. He looked down then towards the girl, preparing to wave off what had happened before quirking an eyebrow as she just gaped up him. He looked at her as well, seeing that she was awfully pretty even with her mouth open like it was and her eyes widened almost comically. "Um, hey, you alright?" He asked her lightly then as he gave her an easy grin whilst he watched her. "Come on, let's go and get some napkins." He added as he placed his large warm hand on her lower back, guiding her over to the table that held napkins along with an assortment of other things and grabbing her a few, gently pressing them into her hand before grabbing some for himself and starting to wipe himself down. "I'm Kalvin, by the way." He added lightly as he looked back towards her with an easy grin.

Ashleigh blinked when he said something, but she was still tongue tied and nothing came out. She wasn't comprehending at all what he was saying to her, but she let him lead her over to a table. Once she lost eye contact she turned bright red cursing herself inside for making a fool of herself. "I'm sorry." She finally got out and nodded that she was all right. She took the napkins though that he handed her looking back at him seeing nothing but those deep blue eyes of his. Okay this was going to be a problem she thought. So much for being a tomboy and usually hanging out with mostly boys. She couldn't even get out what her name was at the moment as his name rang through her head.

Kalvin chuckled hearing her finally uttering her apology as he glanced over to her, grinning a bit. "So she speaks." He teased her slightly as he finished wiping the food off of himself. He tossed his dirty napkins into the trash then as he glanced back towards the girl. "Well, now you know my name you know it is only the polite thing to do to give me yours." He added gently as he leaned back against the counter, crossing his arms then. He'd have to go back to the dorms to get himself a clean shirt now before next class, but not that he really minded having run into this girl, whatever her name may be. "How about you tell me your name, and I'll buy your lunch since you lost your's all over me." He winked at her then, trying to get the poor girl to loosen up. She looked like she was wound too tight.

A boy walked up and turned Ashleigh so she wasn't facing the boy. "Clean yourself up Ash." He turned back to the boy and leaned in and growled lightly so no one else could hear him. "Hands off unless you want yourself torn apart." He backed off then and smirked. "Ashleigh Garard. Mayor Garard's daughter." The boy informed him before laughing and headed off again.
Ashleigh groaned when her cousin turned her around and she wiped the food off of her. When she was finished she turned around, but didn't look into his eyes again. "Yeah what he said. I'm Ashleigh, and you don't need to. I should buy you lunch for dumping mine all over you." Okay what was wrong with her she wondered knowing her cheeks were bright red. She'd never had this problem before, never. She looked up at him more through hooded eyelashes sighing. Course then most boys in her opinion weren't this hot around here.

Kalvin looked to the guy that came up, lifting an eyebrow as he held his hands up in mock surrender. Maybe this was her boyfriend or something? He should've figured she'd have a boyfriend, but it was weird since he didn't really smell the scent of another male on her. He watched the guy go, before looking to Ash then as he smirked some. "They Mayor's daughter, huh? That must be....interesting." He chuckled a bit as he smiled softly hearing what she said next, shaking his head lightly. "Nah, I shouldn't have been standing there dumbly, should've been moving anyways." He replied gently. "It was neither of our faults really, just seemed to be at the right time and place for it. I really don't mind buying you lunch if you'd keep me company. I'm new here so I actually don't have really any friends, well yet at least." He smiled at her. "Come on, I promise I don't bite unless on the full moon."

"Uhh yeah, and no it's not really all that interesting. I'm surprised Rufus didn't tell you that my mother was the principal either." Ashleigh rolled her eyes glaring after her cousin again. "That was my cousin Rufus by the way." She muttered before listening to the new boy. Kalvin. "All right then. I usually eat with my pack...uh I mean my friends you can join us." She gave in starting to head to the line, before stopping short hearing him about the full moon, and her heard turned sharply looking him in the eyes feeling her heart pounding. "What was that about the full moon?" He hoped that he had missed her slip up about eating with her pack.

Kalvin smirked some as he heard her, obviously she hadn't caught the sarcasm in his voice when he had mentioned it being interesting. He shook his head, hearing she also had her Mother who was the principal. He nodded hearing it was her cousin. "Makes sense." He replied lightly then as he shrugged his shoulders, relieved in a sense to hear that, that had been her cousin and not boyfriend. Then again, didn't mean she didn't have one, just meant that it wasn't him. He lifted an eyebrow hearing what she had said, and her hesitancy around the word pack, before smirking a little mischievously hearing her ask him to say what he had said before again. "You heard me." He shrugged his shoulders slightly before moving then through the cafeteria towards the line-up for the food, expecting that she would follow him.

Ashleigh watched him go as her mind whirled. Surely he wasn't a werewolf, but then it could be taken other ways as well...maybe he was a hunter. She chewed on her lower lip staring after him, before her stomach rumbled and she followed like it was an order from her stomach. She caught up with him and caught his arm. She hesitated before blurting out in a low whisper. "Are you a were or a hunter?" She asked him knowing she shouldn't be at all for it would let her own secret out. Not just her own, but her whole families.

Kalvin turned to look to her then, lifting an eyebrow as she brazenly questioned him. "And what makes you think I'm either of those?" He asked her lightly, inwardly smirking as he knew now that she definitely wasn't normal herself. Most likely a werewolf if he had his guess right. He got himself a trey then, moving along the line and asking for certain foods, hearing Ash stepping along behind him through the line before he paid for the both of their lunches towards the end. "Now, where was this 'pack' that you were talking about before?" He asked lightly as he lifted an eyebrow at her, unable to stop the teasing smirk from spreading onto his lips this time.

Ashleigh frowned hearing him as she moved in as well. She put food on her trey as she had before. She got to the end not noticing someone switch one of her deserts as she was looking away. She paled slightly hearing him ask her where the pack was. She glanced around finally finding them. "Over there. You sure your up for that though?" At least only her twin was over there and not her older brother as well. Rufus was and a few other of their cousins and extended cousins. "You never know how the Garard clan will act." She wasn't really wanting to share this boy with them yet, but she couldn't figure out why.

"Well, it's really up to you. If you'd rather we didn't eat there then that's fine by me." Kalvin replied then as he looked down at her, tilting his head some looking at her slightly panicked face. "Honestly, we don't have to eat with your friends, that or you really don't have to eat with me either if you want to eat with your friends." He told her gently, wanting her to know she didn't have to feel uncomfortable either way, and not wanting to make a big deal out of this either. "I'm sure either way it'll be fine." He murmured then as he looked back to the group at the table. They didn't look all that bad to begin with after all.

Ashleigh was torn wanting to sit with Kalvin and then with her brothers and cousins. She looked between them sighing. She wanted to be selfish and keep him all to herself, but then that wasn't fair to him at all. He was new and needed to make friends. "We can sit with them." She smiled at him and headed toward the pack. "So did your family move here?" She asked walking slow to have a little bit of time with him. It was only a half day tomorrow and then Christmas break started so she wondered why he was starting with only one and a half days of school instead of waiting till the new year. She glanced out the window seeing it was snowing and the wind was starting to pick up. Right then an an announcement was made over the intercom.
"Attention all students. School will be dismissed at one o'clock today due to the blizzard moving in. As well as tomorrow cancelled. Your Christmas break is starting early so enjoy." Felicia's voice rang merrily over the intercom with a smile anxious for the early start of vacation as well. It was going to be a good one as well what with Mutt coming home. The hard part was keeping it a surprise for her sister and her sons.

Felix strolled into the cafeteria, but then took off at a run when he heard his mom. He saw Ashleigh and made a run for her and said. "You know, mom is more awesome when she makes an announcement like that?" he spoke up loudly behind her before realizing that she was walking with a boy that he hadn't seen before. "And you are?" he said protectively of his sister to the guy as he was now in front of them, walking backwards while they were walking forward.
