Ashleigh sighed sitting beside her twin. Rufus, and another their cousin, Tyler sat across from them at their table. Normally she'd be having a good time at their birthday party, but tomorrow was the day that would change everything. The first time they would change following their heritage, and she was not looking forward to it at all. She was nervous more than she let on about it. Forcefully she pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind.
Their parents had rented Tibby's Diner for the night at their choice. Not that there would really be anyone else from school coming. Since they stayed normally in their pack. She'd asked if she could invite Kalvin, but her parents had never given her a definite answer so she hadn't. The place was pretty well packed though with their family, Timothy, his daughter and her boyfriend. She loved having Timothy and them there since she considered Timothy another uncle after all these years. He had more than proven himself to their family. She was happy as well that he had found his daughter finally. She'd never seen him so happy as he was now.
Rufus was still in the dog house over what had happened on Christmas Eve. He was lucky to be alive if truth be told with half of his menagerie still hidden in his aunt and uncles house, and them popping up at the worst times imaginable. Even though he was still fuming inside that someone had burned his building to the ground that his father had helped him build. His father had told him he would help him rebuild it, and they had gotten a pretty good start. His cousins had showed up as well as his uncles to help on it making it go faster. Tyler who sat by him and not living under his aunt and uncles roof was still picking on him about it. At least with his father back they had moved back home the day after Christmas. It was weird though being back in his own room after four years having lived at his aunt and uncles with his mother and brothers. Right now Ashleigh was confusing him with her mood. Though he had a pretty good idea what was on her mind. "Why do you keep looking at the door Ash? Were all here already." He asked wondering who she was looking for as well.
Felica smiled leaning against Jacob where they sat watching the kids. She'd already gotten the table set up with the cake as well as a table for each of the twins with presents loading them. She heard Rufus ask Ashleigh why she kept looking toward the door, and chuckled. Little did her daughter know that Kalvin had indeed been invited. Glancing at the clock she saw it was almost time for him to be there. She was looking forward to the full moon the next night finally going to be able to run with their whole family now that the twins were turning sixteen. Though she was nervous about Ashleigh turning knowing she was afraid to. The older boys were grumbling that they were hungry and wanting to order, but she was holding them off till Kalvin got there.
