Felix Garard: Ack! *splat*
Mar 1, 2022 20:59:39 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *tickles Felix* Where were you?
Mar 1, 2022 21:05:14 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *laughs and tries to wriggle free* Making out with Jenna
Mar 2, 2022 11:19:29 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *hmmph* Must be nice, Gramps Dudley keeps breaking me and Micah up
Mar 2, 2022 12:31:17 GMT -6
Felix Garard: Why don't you find a hidden spot to make out then? I mean, there's lots of hidden places around, right?
Mar 2, 2022 12:45:02 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: We tried he keeps sniffing Micah out to show him something or talk to him. I think he's doing the same to Micah's brothers.
Mar 2, 2022 12:46:27 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *clears throat trying not to laugh* I don't know how to help you with that one.
Mar 2, 2022 19:31:09 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *Ashleigh sighed flopping back on whatever they are sitting on or whatever* Sure go ahead and laugh it up!
Mar 2, 2022 20:09:23 GMT -6
Felix Garard: What? You would be laughing at me if I was in your shoes! *flops back and throws an arm around her shoulders*
Mar 2, 2022 20:11:24 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: probably so, but I'm bored now.
Mar 2, 2022 20:21:43 GMT -6
Felix Garard: Want to go check out the horses?
Mar 2, 2022 20:22:57 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: Why not? Uncle Jay had them brought out yesterday. Hey where do you suppose dad and uncles and their cousins have been sneaking off to?
Mar 2, 2022 21:43:20 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *shrugs* I dunno. We can try to follow them too, I guess.
Mar 3, 2022 13:51:00 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *smirks* Now I like that train of thought. We can work on our sniffing techniques and follow them. Or just follow their truck tracks in the snow
Mar 3, 2022 14:13:24 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *snorts* Yeah, I would just follow the tracks. They make it too easy by doing it in the snow.
Mar 3, 2022 14:25:53 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *jumps up* Let's go then!
Mar 3, 2022 14:36:57 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *jumps up as well and grabs Ash's hand and runs towards the door*

Niklaus was following the elementary teacher he had come across as he was about to leave town and move on to the next area. There was something about her that had intrigued him to no end. He felt protective of her and that he wasn't sure why considering she was human and he preferred human blood. But he didn't want to feed on her, he wanted to protect her. He stayed in the shadows, the predicted blizzard was quickly approaching. There was still about an hour of daylight left and he watched as she collected twigs and leaves. He wasn't sure on why she was, but he figured it was something to do for her kids. He heard that there wasn't any school tomorrow since the Christmas break was starting a day early so it couldn't have been for a class tomorrow. He felt the wind pick up and his instincts was telling him that she should get to some shelter. He wasn't sure how to come on to her without freaking her out that he was a serial killer or something.
Elizabeth trudged through the brush, feeling more at home our here than she had yet to feel in Dark Haven. Of course she knew some homesickness was to be expected, as she had never been so far away from her folks so close to a family oriented holiday. She knew she could do it though, she'd stick to this. This was her one chance to get her foot in the door for a teaching career and she wasn't going to mess that up after being so lucky to get this job so quickly out of University. She felt the wind pick up then, realizing she had been at this longer than intended with the blizzard bearing down on the down. She stopped for a moment though as it started to lightly snow, grinning a bit as she looked up towards the canopy of the dead trees, snowflakes landing on her nose and soon the rest of her face. Sighing she knew she had to make her way back to town, and also knew she wouldn't probably make it before the snow really started flying as the wind began to severely pick up. She grabbed her bag then as she moved back through the woods, not realizing someone was there watching her the entire time.

Niklaus watched as she looked up to the sky through the canopy of trees. In a blizzard, the thick forest may be her best shelter besides her home and when she started to make her way out of the woods, he jumped onto a tree and climbed effortlessly high and then began to jump from tree to tree while he made sure she would be OK. From the tops of the trees, he could see the oncoming storm and could see she definitely wouldn't make it far out of the forest before it engulfed the town. He looked down at her and then quickly jumped ahead and landed out of sight of her and began walking back, his hands jammed in his coat pocket acting like he could feel the cold when he truly couldn't, thanks to his father's vampire blood in him. He saw her come into view, as he followed her scent to make sure he found her again. He picked up the pace a bit and when he knew she'd be able to hear him, he said, "Looking to catch your death out here, Miss?" He was trying to be polite so it would help her trust in him. If worse came to worse, he could use his ability to persuade her to trust him at least.
Elizabeth sighed some as she tucked her arms around herself against the now bitingly cold wind as it rushed by her. She grumbled to herself about being so lost in what she was doing and so unobservant to get herself stuck in this situation. She used the trees as much as possible to try blocking out the wind, dreading when she'd have to leave their cover and walk the rest of the way to town with nothing to obstruct her from the blowing snow and chilling gusts. She heard someone trudging up behind her, figuring they wouldn't stop to talk and would just keep on their way, but was surprised when she heard an accented voice talking to her. She turned to that voice, almost stopping as she saw the attractive man now walking with her. Figures, attractive voice attractive guy. "I guess," She laughed some at herself then, "I just lost track of time, I get my mind set on doing something and I'm afraid I get lost in it." She replied as she shrugged her shoulders some. "What about you? You looking to catch your own death?" She asked lightly, figuring she might as well make some conversation if he was stopping to talk to her.

Niklaus smirked at her comment about catching his own death and said, "I guess you can say I've caught it already." He wasn't sure why he just admitted to being dead in so many words and hoped she didn't think that's what he meant. "My car is parked just outside of the forest line if you would care for shelter from the storm. I promise I won't bite," he smiled genuinely nicely at her even though he hoped the last part of what he just said was really true. She smelled so intoxicating to him, it was difficult for him to keep from thinking of her pumping blood coursing through her veins. He somewhat held his breath, not that he needed to really breathe anyway, just to refrain from the temptation.
Elizabeth laughed some hearing him, thinking what he said was a joke as she shook her head and smiled a bit. She chewed a bit on her lower lip in thought hearing what he said next, wondering if that was the best decision. Her Mother had always cautioned her against such situations, afraid of her daughter being raped or something, but Elizabeth doubted that would ever be the case with her. Perhaps it was a stupid way to look at things. She nodded then after a few minutes of deliberation. "If you really don't mind then that would be great." She replied as she looked over to him then, once again caught off guard by how good looking he was.

Niklaus nodded and saw her attraction to him. He then said, "I can take you home as well. I don't need a death on my hands when this blizzard may already claim a couple of those itself from people getting caught in it." He walked with her, careful not to touch her because he truly didn't want to have to use his ability on her. He wanted her to be able to choose for herself without his influence. He probably had lost his mind, but there definitely was something about her that he was attracted to himself. It could be her vulnerability or the fact that he found his mate and it too him 566 years to find her. He didn't know what it was, but he wasn't planning on the latter of the reasons. They reached his car as the wind picked up quite a bit and snow was beginning to flurry around them. He opened the passenger door and let her in before going around and getting in the driver's seat and immediately starting the car and blaring the heat so she could warm up a bit before he headed back to town. "Where do you live and I'll take you there."
Elizabeth shivered violently then as a sudden gust of cold wind hit once more, before looking over to the man once more as she heard him. "Are you sure? I don't want to be any trouble..." She trailed off then as she chewed some on her lower lip, not wanting to impose. She was shocked when she saw his car then. What the heck was a car like that doing out in a snow storm? She walked up to it with him, about to open her door before he beat her to it and she knew she would've blushed with his act of chivalry if she hadn't have been so cold. "Thank you." She murmured softly as she slid in then, sighing once she was out of the cold. She looked over to the man as he slid into the car then, before answering him as she finally felt some heat starting to thaw her out. "I live on Oak St., in the five story walk up there." She replied. "Thanks again, I really do appreciate this." She sighed some as she rubbed her hands together slightly to warm them. "I'm Elizabeth by the way." She introduced, feeling a bit silly for not doing so sooner.

Niklaus shook his head and said, "It's no trouble at all, Elizabeth." He looked at her and said, "I'm Niklaus." He shifted his car into first gear and started to drive towards Oak St. He knew the area quite well as he has been watching her for a bit now. He knew where she lived but didn't want to admit it just yet to her. He didn't want to scare her away now that he was in her presence with her knowing about it. He easily drove through the snow, his years behind the wheel, since cars had been invented even when they were horseless carriages had played a huge part in that. He took it easy enough to be sure not to scare the poor girl either. "So what were you doing out in the forest during this time of day with this storm incoming?" He was trying to make a conversation with her.
Elizabeth smiled some hearing him then as she nodded a bit before looking out the window as he started to drive towards town. The wind and snow were both truly picking up now. She looked back towards him then as she heard him, feeling a little foolish with her excuse of being out in the woods with the storm brewing. "Well, I'm here on a teaching job for the rest of the year, covering for a maternity leave at the elementary school. One of the art classes that I'm doing with the kids involves using textures for different effects. I thought it would be neat to get them to use twigs, leaves, pinecones and various other objects for their art projects." She murmured as she picked lightly at a frayed end of her jacket. "I figured I'd be there and back well before the storm, I had started out at seven this morning and I guess....well, I seriously lost track of time." She admitted as she blushed some.

Klaus smirked when he heard her come clean with her reasoning. It had been all day since they've been out there. "I think I should get you something to eat then considering the day is almost over with and you skipped lunch," he mused. He turned onto a side street, a back way to Oak Street and one that had mostly shadows along the buildings and little to no streetlights. It was a way he was extra familiar with. Oak Street wasn't far from the forest, which was probably why she hadn't driven there and was without a vehicle. He found her place easily, hoping she didn't find it weird that he knew exactly where it was. If anything, he could use the excuse of the five story description she had gave.
Elizabeth smiled some hearing him, shaking her head slightly. "I've already been enough trouble, but thank you." She replied softly then before she thought of something, hesitating for a moment as they reached her apartment building. "Well, if you'd like, I could whip up a quick lunch for the both of us? Since you drove me home and everything." She added, feeling a little nervous all of a sudden. She hoped she wasn't sounding like she was interested in something...else. Well, she was interested in him but she didn't want to appear interested in him, that would most likely scare him off. She hoped that her offer just came off as being nice and wanting to thank him for the ride home. Besides, it would be nice to finally have a chance to talk to someone, she hadn't had much of a chance to make many acquaintances since she had moved here.

Klaus chuckled slightly and said, "It would quite a late lunch, but if you insist, I will accept your lovely offer." He was thankful for the fact that he could survive off of human food and it would actually appear he wasn't being rude by not eating. He shut his car off, knowing she was going to invite him in, which if she didn't he'd be stuck out in the cold since he couldn't go in without being invited in, a curse his father had given him as well. He hurried around to the passenger side of the car and swung the door open and helped her out before slamming it shut, pressing the lock button on his car key as he put an arm around her to help keep her warm as they headed up to her apartment.
Elizabeth laughed softly hearing what he said. "I suppose you are right." She murmured lightly then in embarrassment for truly losing her sense to time. She was just happy that he had accepted, when she thought for sure he might decline. Elizabeth went to open her door before she was once again startled when it opened before she could, realizing that Klaus had opened the door for her. She smiled thankfully, hoping that her blush wasn't showing on her cheeks yet due to the cold as she moved out of the car. She nearly jumped feeling him wrap a strong arm around her as she walked with him into the building, guiding him up the four stories to her floor. She led the way to her apartment then as she opened the door, walking in. "Come on in and make yourself at home, Niklaus." She added lightly as she saw him hesitate at the doorway for a moment, shedding her shoes and coat, hanging it on the hanger by the door.

Klaus waited on her invitation into her home and when she finally spoke it, he stepped inside and closed the door behind him. He shed his own coat, not needing it anyway but the wool coat looked as if he was more human than anything else to human eyes. He looked around the apartment from where he stood inside the door as he waited for her lead. It was a lot smaller than he was used to, but that was alright. He preferred the largest house available for himself, but he could cope with something small if it was for Elizabeth. He followed her into the living room where he found a spot to sit down on her small couch, trying not to hover over her to think he was crazy. "Since you were gathering those items for the kids, you couldn't have waited until right before the new year started for the school?"
