Felix Garard: Ack! *splat*
Mar 1, 2022 20:59:39 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *tickles Felix* Where were you?
Mar 1, 2022 21:05:14 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *laughs and tries to wriggle free* Making out with Jenna
Mar 2, 2022 11:19:29 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *hmmph* Must be nice, Gramps Dudley keeps breaking me and Micah up
Mar 2, 2022 12:31:17 GMT -6
Felix Garard: Why don't you find a hidden spot to make out then? I mean, there's lots of hidden places around, right?
Mar 2, 2022 12:45:02 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: We tried he keeps sniffing Micah out to show him something or talk to him. I think he's doing the same to Micah's brothers.
Mar 2, 2022 12:46:27 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *clears throat trying not to laugh* I don't know how to help you with that one.
Mar 2, 2022 19:31:09 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *Ashleigh sighed flopping back on whatever they are sitting on or whatever* Sure go ahead and laugh it up!
Mar 2, 2022 20:09:23 GMT -6
Felix Garard: What? You would be laughing at me if I was in your shoes! *flops back and throws an arm around her shoulders*
Mar 2, 2022 20:11:24 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: probably so, but I'm bored now.
Mar 2, 2022 20:21:43 GMT -6
Felix Garard: Want to go check out the horses?
Mar 2, 2022 20:22:57 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: Why not? Uncle Jay had them brought out yesterday. Hey where do you suppose dad and uncles and their cousins have been sneaking off to?
Mar 2, 2022 21:43:20 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *shrugs* I dunno. We can try to follow them too, I guess.
Mar 3, 2022 13:51:00 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *smirks* Now I like that train of thought. We can work on our sniffing techniques and follow them. Or just follow their truck tracks in the snow
Mar 3, 2022 14:13:24 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *snorts* Yeah, I would just follow the tracks. They make it too easy by doing it in the snow.
Mar 3, 2022 14:25:53 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *jumps up* Let's go then!
Mar 3, 2022 14:36:57 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *jumps up as well and grabs Ash's hand and runs towards the door*

Klaus shook his head and said, "No need for apologies." He quickly ate and sat back as he downed his water in just a few gulps. "That was delicious. Thank you for the meal," he said politely watching her intently now. He wanted to ask her if she would believe him if he told her the uncensored truth about him, but knew he couldn't. He waited for just a moment before saying, "Tell me something about yourself. I must say, if it's not too bold, that I have been intrigued by you."
Elizabeth smiled softly as she heard him. "You're welcome, thank you for saving me from that blizzard." She replied as she stood, grabbing both of their plates and taking them to the kitchen, leaving them in the sink. She'd do dishes later. She walked back out then and sat back down at the table, before looking slightly surprised hearing him as she found her face feeling a little warm at the thought that he had been 'intrigued' by her. "Well, I'm not sure really what to say about myself...." She trailed off, trying to think of something. "I mean, I like to read, especially on days like today." She added, looking out the window, seeing the snow blowing past, lit up by the lights of the street lamps that had flickered on not long ago. "What about you? Tell me something about yourself." She smiled as she turned back to look at him.

Klaus smiled at the thought of her liking to read. "Who's your favorite author? Reading is a great way to pass time when it feels mundane," he replied enthusiastically. He hoped he didn't sound like a freak who loved books now. He sat back in the chair and waited for her answer. There wasn't enough time in the world to talk about him, not with his history at least. He rather listen to her story and then if they had time, he could give a little insight to his past.
Elizabeth smiled softly as he actively became engaged with her love for reading, sympathizing with it as well. "Gosh, I really couldn't begin to narrow down a favourite author. If I was made to though, I think Jane Austen would pull out above the rest, even if just barely. I can't begin to count how many times I've read Pride and Prejudice." She admitted with slight embarrassment, not knowing what kind of books he was into, but she doubted it would be the romantic and slightly feminist authoress. "But Tolkien will always have a special place in my heart as well, J.K. Rowling, Terry Goodkind, Margaret Mitchell. I really can't choose." She murmured as she smiled some. "What about you? What are your favourite authors? Books?" She asked trying to hide the eagerness in her voice.

Klaus nodded and said, "Tolkien is a good choice but I am more inclined to love Mark Twain's work the most. A bit wordy at times, but always has a great attention to the details." He mused. Of all the writers in the world, Mark Twain never disappointed him. He remembered meeting the author at one point and was absolutely starstruck when he did so he could hardly get a word out. He wished he could just grant the author immortality but decided against it because his works would live on throughout the millenniums ahead. "My favorite book as always been The Innocents Abroad. I could read that book over and over again."
"Mark Twain, he's rather good as well, though I'm afraid to admit that when I read him in high school I couldn't really get into his works." Elizabeth admitted as she smiled some, shaking her head slightly. "I read that book recently, it was rather good. I liked his one quote-how did it go- something like "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."" She smiled all the more. "It made me feel a bit better about having to uproot all the time, leaving friends that I would rarely make behind." She admitted. "It also helped with my nerves about having to go to new places." She murmured as she lightly drew patterns on her table with her fingers, before looking back to Klaus. "What else should I know about you, Klaus?" She asked lightly, grinning a bit more.

Klaus smiled at her honesty and said, "I suppose a young mind wouldn't know how to interpret his works at times. And that would be it." He smiled before saying, "Or my favorite quote would be, One must travel, to learn. Every day, now, old Scriptural phrases that never possessed any significance for me before, take to themselves a meaning. Truth with more meaning than one could imagine in that quote." He thought for a moment then and shrugged, "I'm not sure I have much I could tell you right now. Perhaps you should know, and I hope you don't take this the wrong way, that I can be dangerous but not to the ones I care about."
Elizabeth smiled hearing him as she nodded, before her eyes lit up hearing his quote he took from the book. "That was a good one." She admitted as she smiled all the more. She tilted her head some then hearing what he said as she shrugged her shoulders slightly. "Isn't that true about most anyone. Everyone has the potential to be evil, one can choose whether they want to be or not though. Evil is free will." She murmured softly as she looked over to him. "Or, at least, that is my belief. I know it might seem rather naive." She admitted as she smiled some at him. "And you hardly seem like someone that could truly be dangerous."

Klaus smirked and said, "I wish that were true. However, I am a fiercely loyal being and if I care for someone, I'll kill anyone that tries to hurt them." He was serious but sounded a bit nonchalant when he said it. He decided to bring up the question that surrounded the town by easing into it and said, "So what do you think about the...myth about this town?"
Elizabeth tilted her head some then hearing what he said next, finding it curious then, though she had heard people claim that they'd kill anyone who tried to harm those they love before. Regardless he sounded....serious about it. "The myth? As in the one about supernatural beings?" She asked lightly then as she heard him, chewing some on her lower lip. "To be completely honest....I'm not sure what to think about it. I mean, there are tons of things that go on in this world that nobody has the answer to. I wouldn't ever want to say that something like their myths could never have existed, but at the same point I've grown up being told the exact opposite. I wouldn't be sure exactly what to believe till I'd be given the facts either against the reality of those myths or for it." She murmured softly as she watched him intently. "What do you believe, Klaus?"
Post by Klaus Mikaelson on Dec 21, 2012 20:50:05 GMT -6
"I believe that if you can see it, you will believe it," he began and took a breath out of habit and continued, "And I've seen many things in my years." He wanted to just tell her to be careful and always be with him so he could protect her but knew he shouldn't...that he couldn't. He watched her then for just a moment and said, "The way you word that, I would say you are also into history. If it's written down in a text book, it must be true if it's stated to be. But what if myths to the place of our histories?"
Elizabeth tilted her head some hearing what he said next as she lifted an eyebrow. "You're making yourself seem older than you really are." She teased light then as she smiled some, before chewing softly on her lower lip hearing what he said next about being into history. "I believe the truth in our history books to be exact. Everything, no matter if we perceive it as a legend, myth, fantasy, everything comes from some semblance of truth. History isn't always objected, most often it is interpreted, sometimes even completely changed based on the opinion of the author or the historian. That's where reading history becomes complicated, almost impossible some times."

Klaus couldn't believe his ears. She was definitely a dream come true for him when she worded things like she was. "I'm only as old as I choose to be, I suppose," he quipped before continuing, "So the history you read, you believe could have been false? Are you sure you're not older than you claim to be?" He laughed lightly before saying, "OK, for argument's sake, if I told you that when Columbus discovered, and yes, I'll use that term loosely because there were people here when he had came to America. But when he discovered America, he was truly met with curious people who only showed any hostility when they felt threatened, would you believe me or would you believe that there was no hostility?"
Elizabeth listened to him, before smiling softly hearing what he said about her talking as if she were older, shrugging her shoulders slightly. "I'm saying that yes, history can have it's faults; after all history has been created by people and we know above all that people are fallible." She murmured softly then as she watched him. "But I'm also saying that things had to develop from some form of truth, just that, that truth could have been stretched to accommodate what people want to believe instead of what they should hear." She sighed some then, before listening to what he said next. She chewed thoughtfully on her lower lip then. "The cynical person in me believes that there could never be no hostility when it comes to outsiders entering a foreign nation. People are naturally protective of what is theirs, and that includes their way of life. If they feel that anything that belongs to them is threatened they defend it, and often that leads to hostile behaviour. Humans as a species are radical within themselves, they think radically and thus act radically. Hostility would have been inevitable, even for a man such as Christopher Columbus. Hell, even missionaries, the supposed men of God were met with hostility and acted with hostility when the British colonized India. It's all about ultimatums, maybe if we didn't have so many we'd have less problems in this world" She flushed then, realizing she had just went on a little mini rant. "Uh, yeah, anyways..." She cleared her throat awkwardly.

Klaus smirked at her words and said, "What if I told you that you truly are an amazing woman?" Now he couldn't help himself and wanted to share everything he could with her. He didn't care anymore if he sounded like a crazy psychopath. He wanted her and when he wanted something, he went for it until he got it. "What do you say we get something to eat or watch a movie after this dreadful storm is over with?"
