Felix Garard: Ack! *splat*
Mar 1, 2022 20:59:39 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *tickles Felix* Where were you?
Mar 1, 2022 21:05:14 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *laughs and tries to wriggle free* Making out with Jenna
Mar 2, 2022 11:19:29 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *hmmph* Must be nice, Gramps Dudley keeps breaking me and Micah up
Mar 2, 2022 12:31:17 GMT -6
Felix Garard: Why don't you find a hidden spot to make out then? I mean, there's lots of hidden places around, right?
Mar 2, 2022 12:45:02 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: We tried he keeps sniffing Micah out to show him something or talk to him. I think he's doing the same to Micah's brothers.
Mar 2, 2022 12:46:27 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *clears throat trying not to laugh* I don't know how to help you with that one.
Mar 2, 2022 19:31:09 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *Ashleigh sighed flopping back on whatever they are sitting on or whatever* Sure go ahead and laugh it up!
Mar 2, 2022 20:09:23 GMT -6
Felix Garard: What? You would be laughing at me if I was in your shoes! *flops back and throws an arm around her shoulders*
Mar 2, 2022 20:11:24 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: probably so, but I'm bored now.
Mar 2, 2022 20:21:43 GMT -6
Felix Garard: Want to go check out the horses?
Mar 2, 2022 20:22:57 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: Why not? Uncle Jay had them brought out yesterday. Hey where do you suppose dad and uncles and their cousins have been sneaking off to?
Mar 2, 2022 21:43:20 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *shrugs* I dunno. We can try to follow them too, I guess.
Mar 3, 2022 13:51:00 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *smirks* Now I like that train of thought. We can work on our sniffing techniques and follow them. Or just follow their truck tracks in the snow
Mar 3, 2022 14:13:24 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *snorts* Yeah, I would just follow the tracks. They make it too easy by doing it in the snow.
Mar 3, 2022 14:25:53 GMT -6
Ashleigh Garard: *jumps up* Let's go then!
Mar 3, 2022 14:36:57 GMT -6
Felix Garard: *jumps up as well and grabs Ash's hand and runs towards the door*

Elizabeth walked into the apartment with him as she placed the bag just inside the door to her bedroom which was right off of the living room. She glanced over to Klaus as he sat on the couch and found herself blushing some as she sighed softly at his question. "I was being ambitious I suppose, stupidly so." She admitted in embarrassment. "It's....well it's my first teaching job and I don't want to screw it up." She added as an explanation before she moved over to the kitchen, grabbing the chicken that had been laid out to thaw since this morning. She threw the oven on, planning on making some chicken club sandwiches with a caesar salad, before walking back out into the living room as the oven preheated.

Klaus smirked at her explanation feeling like she couldn't possibly mess anything up. What was he thinking? Was he thinking of her as his? If that was so, then why doesn't he just make a move and find out what she really thought of him. No, he thought to himself, Then I'd be kicked out and she'd really be scared of me and I can not have that. Not from her. "I doubt that you could mess up something like that. You seem to love your job enough that I think they may want to keep you around a lot longer than you think." If he had anything to do with that, that was definitely a good way to have her stay in town as well.
Elizabeth smiled some hearing him. "That's nice of you to say so." She murmured softly as she sat down as well, shrugging her shoulders slightly. "I figure I'm just lucky enough to get this job so quickly, and it will open up for jobs elsewhere too." She sat back then as she smiled when her cat jumped up onto the arm of the chair beside her, giving its head a rub before watching as he jumped back down and curled up by the heater against the wall. She looked over to Niklaus then. "So what about you? Have you lived here for very long?" She asked lightly as she shifted slightly so she could actually face him.

Niklaus watched the cat, not sure if it would hiss at him or just avoid him. Luckily it just wanted a scratch from its owner and went back to where it was comfortable. He looked at Elizabeth then and said, "Not long. I tend to move around quite often." It wasn't a lie but it also wasn't the complete truth. He conveniently left out the part of staying in town when he crossed paths with Elizabeth for the first time. He also left out the part where he felt more at home here than anywhere else he's been just for the fact of the vampires and werewolves that lived in the town. Of course, he couldn't mention that part though. "Where are you from then? And why don't you have your family surrounding you during this time of the year?"
Elizabeth smiled softly as he took notice of her cat. "I wanted a puppy, but the building landowner didn't allow it." She admitted then. Regardless of her not being as big of a fan of cats she had needed something else living in the apartment with her, preferably something she could cuddle with. "Does your job make you move?" She asked lightly as she looked back to him then, before smiling hearing what he said next. "Well, I've kinda lived a lot of places, too many to mention really. My Dad is high up in the military so...." She trailed off, shrugging her shoulders slightly. "My Dad was called back to Alaska, so he and my Mom moved back there a few weeks ago, after I had taken possession of my apartment." She replied as she acted nonchalant about it, not wanting to dampen the atmosphere with her own depression over being so far from family. "What about you? Do you have family here?" She asked him lightly then.

Klaus nodded about the cat and then smirked as an absurd thought about him being her puppy entered his mind. He pawned the smirk off on his answer to her first question though and waited to answer until after she had explained about her family. "Well, that's a shame," started, not sure what to reply about it and figured that was the best way. It really was a shame because she was here all alone but he didn't dwell on it and instead continued with, "No, I don't work. My family left me a fortune, I suppose. I don't have any family that's living anymore that I know of." It wasn't a complete lie but then again it wasn't exactly true either. He left his family while he ran from his stepfather and had no clue of his family's whereabouts or fates except for his mother's.
Elizabeth tilted her head slightly hearing him then as she nodded a bit when he finished. "I'm sorry to hear that, about your family being gone that is. It must make things pretty lonely sometimes." She murmured softly to him, before hearing the oven go off as she stood from the couch, walking the short steps to her small kitchen and placing the chicken into the oven. She put the timer on before stepping back into the living room then as she sat back down on her side of the couch once more, unsure of what to say for a moment as she did. "So where have you lived before?" She asked lightly then as she watched him. "Where was your favourite place?"

Klaus shrugged and said, "I've had time to get used to it and I quite enjoy the solitude at times." When she went to the kitchen, he waited until she got back and continued after she asked about where he had lived. "I've been everywhere, love, and to be quite honest with you, Dark Haven feels more like home than I've felt in a very long time." That was the complete truth for a change and he didn't even catch that he called her 'love'. It felt natural and for the first time in awhile, he felt as if he didn't need to act unnatural. "What has been your favorite place to live? Since you mentioned you've moved around a bit."
"I can understand that." Elizabeth murmured softly as she nodded about enjoying the solitude of living alone. She found her heart fluttered in her chest slightly when the endearment 'love' passed by his lips, though she tried to reason with herself that he probably called many girls that out of habit, but it still sounded nice rolling off of his tongue. "Dark Haven seems like a really nice place, yeah." She nodded in agreement as she smiled softly. "People seem nice here, and the town is quiet." She murmured softly as she tucked one of her legs under her. "My favourite place?" She hummed in thought then, chewing on her lower lip out of habit as she did. "I'd have to say....Italy. Rome was nice, amazing, but where we lived was just....spectacular. Our home was outside of this small village in the costal country-side. Green hills, warm sun, blue waters...." She trailed off in her thoughts. "I was thirteen when we had moved there."

Klaus nodded and knew Rome quite well. "Rome is beautiful and the country-side is quite spectacular. The bluest waters I have seen, however, was off the coast of southern Australia. They are quite lovely all year round." He leaned back in the couch surprised at his comfort now and surprised she was so open to him, a stranger that happened to offer her a ride home in the storm. "Also, Ireland is quite lovely in the summertime. But there's something about this town that just makes it feel worthwhile."
Elizabeth smiled hearing him then as she nodded some. "I've heard that about Australia, though my Father was never transferred there so we never went." She replied as she shifted to lean into the couch a bit more, getting more comfortable. "As for Ireland, we've been there as well and I'd love to go back sometime if I ever can. The summers are beautiful there." She agreed before listening to what he said about Dark Haven. "I'm hoping I feel as at home here as you do soon." She murmured with a small smile, before hearing the buzzer go off, telling her the chicken was finished. She stood then, going to the kitchen and taking the chicken out, cutting it up before taking out the lettuce to make the salad as well as all the fixings, laying them out to let him choose what he wanted to do with his own food. She grabbed tomatoes though, slicing them along with getting out the bacon and setting it in the microwave to cook. Once it was finished she got it out as well. "Niklaus, if you'd like you can come in here and make your salad, the sandwiches are ready." She called out to him in the living room as she finished putting together his sandwich and her own.

Klaus stood up when she called to him and walked over to her. "Please, call me Nik or Klaus. My family always did and I think under the circumstances, a friend should be able to as well." He walked over to her where the food was and decided to make just a small salad, not very keen on vegetables anyway, and make a meat packed sandwich to top it off. He followed her to a small table to eat and dared to bring up the question that's been eating at him, "So how long do you plan to stay exactly? Just after the teacher's maternity leave or a bit longer as well?"
Elizabeth smiled softly hearing him then as she nodded some. "Alright." She agreed then as she let him do what he wished before making her own up and following him out to the table. She swallowed the bite that she had to eat after he asked his question, shrugging her shoulders some then. "Well, definitely till the teacher's maternity leave is over, after that I don't honestly know. If I can get a permanent teaching position here then I can stay, if not I'll have to move to where I can find a job next." She answered honestly then. "What about you, how long do you plan on staying around here?" She asked lightly before taking another bite of her food. "Oh, I never thought to ask, what would you like to drink?" She got up from the table, going back towards the kitchen to get drinks.

Klaus was going to answer her question when she realized her forgetting to offer a drink. "Water will be just fine, thank you," he replied and let her get the drinks and sit down again to continue to eat. He started with his salad so he could wash the vegetables down with the chicken from his sandwich. When she was seated back down, he continued and said, "As long as it takes." It was a partial answer and he hoped it didn't sound too vague. He wasn't sure he could think of a good lie if she asked as long as what took. If he had to, he was going to attempt to persuade anyone he could to make sure Elizabeth kept her job.
Elizabeth nodded hearing him getting two glasses of water and bringing them back. "Sorry about that." She apologized with a sheepish smile, before tilting her head curiously hearing his answer. She opened her mouth, about to ask what was meant to take his time up here, but fought against the urge. It would be rude of her to pry like that, after all, and she had only just met him an hour ago. She continued to eat with him in a comfortable silence then, finishing her salad before starting on her sandwich once more. She set the rest of her sandwich down, feeling rather full after she sipped at her water.
